LCA – wanted, needed, but truly understood? by Clib2021

Beeinflusst durch die Diskussionen zum Klimawandel und die Vorstellung der UN Ziele für nachhaltige Entwicklung, wird auch von Seiten der Kunden und Markenartikelhersteller der Wunsch nach Nachhaltigkeit ebenfalls immer stärker. Aber wie soll man diese messen? Das derzeitige Tool der Wahl, um die Umweltwirkungen eines Produktes zu prüfen, ist das Life Cycle Assessment. Die Industrie benötigt ein Instrument um ihre Wettbewerbsfähigkeit in diesem Feld zu untermauern, KMU möchten Ihre Attraktivität für die Abnehmerindustrien steigern, die ihre Produktion nachhaltiger gestalten wollen. Aber was versteht man nun unter einem LCA, was kann es aussagen, wo gibt es aber auch Einschränkungen? Der Workshop soll einen Einblick in das Thema LCA liefern und den Nutzen sowie die Grenzen von verschieden Seiten beleuchten.

But how to measure sustainability? The current tool of choice to test the environmental impact of a product is life cycle assessment. The industry needs an instrument to confirm its competitiveness in this field; SMEs want to increase their attractiveness for the customer industries, which want to make their production more sustainable. But what is meant by a LCA, what can it predict and where are restriction? The workshop is intended to provide an insight into the subject of LCA and to discuss its usefulness and limitations from various perspectives
