The new issue of “Spot on Biotechnology Business” is out!

For the 11th time, BIO.NRW is publishing the brochure “Spot on Biotechnology Business“.

As usual, BIO.NRW presents an analysis of the local industry and provides facts and figures on biotechnology in NRW. These range from location factors and company figures to the academic diversity in the state. In addition, the companies active in biotechnology in NRW are listed and presented with company profiles.
The brochure also provides new content this year. The focus in this issue is the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on NRW and local companies. In the Corona crisis, it became particularly clear where the strengths of the biotechnology industry in NRW lie. The new chapter “NRW against COVID-19” therefore presents the activities of biotechnology companies in the fight against the pandemic.
Networking of the various actors is important for the successful strengthening of the biotechnology sector. In this edition of the brochure, the BioRegions in NRW are introduced for the first time with profiles. As regional competence networks, the BioRegions support the industry and mediate the exchange between the stakeholders.
In addition to its activities to promote the growth of the biotechnology sector, BIO.NRW also introduces its two focus areas in this brochure. BIO.NRW.red promotes interdisciplinary exchange between the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical research, the healthcare sector and pharmaceutical biotechnology. The new thematic focus area BIO.NRW.eco addresses the topics of bioeconomy and sustainability through biotechnology. Thus, BIO.NRW’s activities cover the important topics of our time: health and sustainability.
