The Greener Manufacturing Show in Cologne brought together sustainable ideas from NRW and beyond

The industrial sector is facing an enormous challenge: it must do without fossil fuels and fossil energy, all while establishing circular processes and remaining profitable. This challenge is felt in all branches of industry. The sustainability event The Greener Manufacturing Show addressed this issue and offered solutions.

On 9 and 10 November, decision-makers and innovative companies from all branches of industry met in Cologne to discuss the topic of sustainability in industry. As an official partner of the event, BIO.NRW.eco presented the “Home of Bioeconomy”. We used the motto to present the various players in North Rhine-Westphalia’s (NRW) biotechnology and bioeconomy scene. A variety of formats were used to highlight the diversity present in our federal state.

The BIO.NRW.eco team shared a joint exhibition stand at the event. Together with NRW.Global Business, BioEcho Life Sciences, BioIndustry, Fibrothelium, EEDEN, BluCon Biotech, Brabender and BioökonomieRevier we welcomed visitors to our stand. Our co-exhibitors presented a broad range of innovative approaches for a sustainable industry. Above all, it became clear that NRW has a lot to offer in terms of transforming the economy: start-ups, SMEs and research institutions are working on new technologies and solutions for a sustainable economy. Known for their innovative strength, the exhibitors at the BIO.NRW.eco joint stand represented the diversity of the bioeconomy, covering areas from textiles and cleaning agents to high-tech materials. In addition, bioeconomy enablers provided insights into the sector, the ecosystem, and NRW as a region.

In the “Home of Bioeconomy” workshops, we also received exciting insights into sustainable products and the latest technologies from NRW as well as support services in NRW and beyond. We would like to thank all the speakers for their informative and interesting presentations.

Many thanks also to the participants and visitors for the great discussions. We enjoyed the event and it was a great success. A big thank you goes to the teams of BIO CM and BIO.NRW for the perfect organisation of the event.

We’ll be taking part in the event again next year. With many new ideas that we don’t want to give away just yet 😉

If you are based in NRW and would like to take part at our joint stand, please feel free to contact Ms Pia Drache.
