Publication of the Work Program 2021-2022 of the Horizon Europe Cluster 6 “Food, Bioeconomy, Natural Resources, Agriculture and Environment”

The EU Commission has published the Horizon Europe work program in cluster 6. Among other things, this contains the calls for proposals for the bioeconomy sector in 2021 and 2022.

Depending on the respective call, either the one-stage or the two-stage submission procedure will apply. The calls are expected to be available on the EU Commission’s Funding and Tenders Portal from June 22, 2021. The submission deadline is July 22 or October 6, 2021, depending on the call.

In addition, there will be several European partnerships for cluster 6. I.e. the EU will support European partnerships with EU countries, the private sector, foundations and other actors. The aim is to address global challenges and modernize industry through concentrated research and innovation efforts.

The European Commission has agreed on the successor to the BBI JU, called the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU), in a legislative proposal adopted at the end of February 2021. The final version is expected to be adopted by the end of 2021.
